Introduction
The SFCC Library has many sources for researching the cultural, economic, and political history of the Pacific Northwest region. This guide should help you find those resources and use them effectively. While SFCC's library is relatively small, it is certainly possible to do high quality research thanks to online databases and cooperative agreements with other libraries.
Start early! Good research takes time. Borrowing items from other libraries is free and easy, but it takes time for them to arrive. Also, keep a record of where you get information as you go along: Nothing is more frustrating than trying to compile a bibliography when you can't remember where you got your information!
And you're always welcome to visit the library reference desk for research help. Help is also available by phone, email, or 24/7 online chat.
