Searches are more successful when you know the specific question you want to answer.  You may need to decide if you want articles from general magazines, newspapers or specific scientific or scholarly research found in journals.

You can access database articles from home through the SFCC Library homepage entering your Bigfoot student account name and password.      Username: JanetW7824   Password: ******

This search uses * for truncation and quotation marks to search phrases. See hints below.

Search Tips:

•    Combine keywords or subjects by using the limiting word AND

For example, chocolate AND health finds articles on both chocolate and health

•  Truncate words with an asterisk * to find varied endings.

For example, teach* finds teach, teacher teachers and teaching.

•     Combine keywords with OR to retrieve synonyms.

For example, health or nutrition*  finds all the words: health, nutrition, nutritional, nutritionally

 •     Use Subject searching to increase precision when necessary.

  •      Use "quotation marks" for phrases  "high school"  "community college"
